FRESHMAN - GRADE 9
Has earned fewer than 5 1/2 Carnegie Units OR has not successfully completed English I, Accelerated English I, or Accelerated Gifted English I regardless of credits earned

SOPHOMORE - GRADE 10
Has earned at least 5 1/2 Carnegie Units and has successfully completed English I, Accelerated English I, or Accelerated Gifted English I

JUNIOR - GRADE 11
Has earned at least 11 Carnegie Units and has successfully completed English II, Accelerated English II, or Accelerated Gifted English II

SENIOR - GRADE 12
Has earned at least 16 1/2 Carnegie Units and has successfully completed English III, Accelerated English III, or Accelerated Gifted English III and the Functional Literacy Exam (FLE).

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR OLIVE BRANCH HIGH SCHOOL:
Seniors of School Year 2002-2003 and beyond

Academic end-of-course tests will be phased in during the 2001-2002 school year to replace the Functional Literacy Exam (FLE) as a requirement for graduation.
Students who began 9th grade in school year 1999-2000 (anticipated graduation is 2003) must pass the Functional Literacy Examination (FLE) plus the Subject Area Test in
U.S. History from 1877.
Students who began 9th grade in school year 2000-2001 (anticipated graduation in 2004) must pass the mathematics section of the FLE plus the Subject Area Tests in U. S. History from 1877 and English II (with a writing component).
Students who began 9th grade in 2001-2002 (anticipated graduation in 2005) must pass the mathematics section of the FLE plus the Subject Area Tests in U.S. History from 1877, English II (with a writing component), and Biology I.
Students who begin 9th grade in 2002-2003 (anticipated graduation in 2006 or later) must pass the Subject Area Tests in U.S. History from 1877, English II (with a writing component), Biology I, and Algebra I.  This group of students must pass all four Subject Area Tests even if they take the course(s) prior to their 9th grade year.

It is possible for students to earn 1 credit for Algebra I and 1 credit for Computer Discovery if successfully completed in the eighth grade, provided that the courses are not repeated in High School.
